Head of Fundraising (rif. HOF)

Mission

The postholder is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic and operative plans of the fundraising area, in accordance with the overall strategic plan of the NPO in order to strenghten the NPO impact in accordance with the international best practice in the fundraising field, with specific reference to:

- identification of the optimal fundraising mix to leverage the maximum income;

- definition of the development policies and practice for each fundraising activity.

The position works closely with the Chief Operating Officer. He/she manages the following staff: Events Manager, Individual Donors Manager, Major donors and Legacies Area Coordinator, Regular Donors Area Coordinator, Corporate Team and Digital Fundraising Team.

He/She also deal with the Comunication Manager for the main issue of the fundraising’s campaign and the content strategy and for the editorial plan shared with all the Society.

The postholder also strictly works with all the main Society’s Managers and relate in particular with the local Branches Network Manager to evaluate and manage the fundraising needed actions across the Italian Society local Branches network.

He/She also is in charge to maintain and grow the relationships with the others main international MS Society and International Federation , particularly related to international activities.

Main role responsibility

•  Quality of the strategic and operational planning and proposed projects.

•  Funds raised on a national level (national events, direct marketing, corporate and foundation legacies, regular donors and digital fundraising).

•  Identification, evaluation and implementation of new fundraising channels.

•  Efficiency KPI for each fundraising area.

•  Lifetime value of donors.

•  Number of branches involved in the national fundraising events.

Key Requirements

•  6/8 + years experience in hig managerial positions in NPOs.

•  A proven understanding of fundraising strategy and the relative effectiveness of different techniques and types of fundraising.

•  Proven ability to develop and manage major projects from inception to completion including experience of financial planning and budgetary control.

•  Experience of managing suppliers including negotiating contracts and supply of goods/services Detailed understanding of budgeting and evaluation of fundraising initiatives.

•  Proven ability to analyse and interpret results and react promptly and accordingly.

•  Strong marketing and analytical skills with detailed understanding of the processes and practicalities.

•  Goal oriented, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic with excellent managerial skills and experience and a responsive, flexible working style.

•  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to develop good work relationships with external suppliers and internal departments.

•  Fluency in written and spoken Italian.

•  High level in English (written and spoken).
